This weekend was spent putting in some hard work finishing up a big project with my father. Cedar saw dust was flying again and after all of the long hours designing and constructing, everything I’d been hoping for came together. With the wood-working all wrapped up, I was able to enjoy a delicious meal cooked by my mother and soaked up some serious relaxation in the Spa Berry outside amongst the trees with Buddha.

14 Octmy scrumptious new studio
23 AugI know this post has been a long time coming, so for those who have been desperately wanting to see my new studio space, the wait is now over!

I love this space so much that I don’t even know what to start gushing about first: a whole room to myself, a big window that spills natural light onto my drafting table, the view of the mountains and magnolia tree, the wood corner desk for digital edits and mail art writing, the wire shelving units filled with massive stacks of supplies, the bookshelf that houses some of the best volumes I’ve ever collected, or the double inspiration walls that surround my creative space.

It took a lot of work to put this room together, but it was worth every second, as it is now the art studio that I have always dreamed of. I honestly can’t say that I’ve missed my previous studio one bit. What do you think of my new space?
home sweet home
26 Jul
Just a little more than a month has passed since John and I found out we were moving to the West Kootenays! Things are finally settling into their right places, and boxes are becoming fewer and fewer; this newly renovated basement suite is really starting to feel like home.
In celebration of that happy, warm feeling I am going to be doing a few more “home sweet home” posts and I wanted to let my readers share in the fun. If you’d like to participate: take a photo, make a drawing, etc that symbolizes this mantra, then e-mail it to naturesmyfriend@gmail.com subject: “home sweet home” and include a link to your website. Submissions will be accepted now until August 21st and will be posted alongside my own “home sweet home” inspirations and some documentation of the new pad (even my studio)!
