too good tuesday #4

Incredible to think that I have been doing too good tuesdays for a month now; time sure flies! This weekly post has been a nice go-to post for several reasons: 1.it’s uplifting to count your blessings 2.having a record of the positive activities in your life that so that you can look back on them 3.being able to quickly share a link, without the need for a lengthy post. Here’s what was too good to me this past week:

Taking one of my favorite photos of the West Kootenays, during my early morning nature walk: Announcing my big news with Etsy Canada and seeing them promote the upcoming show in their recent newsletter: Currently too busy to reply to any mail art, so I’m getting my postal fix from Jaime’s fantastic blog send more mail: Kale chips; who needs chips or crackers when you’ve got this perfect snack recipe for tasty, crispy & healthy greens? I’ve been experimenting with different spices to like garlic and oregano to jazz them up even more: Major progress on two new editions of hand-printed journals to soon join these guys in the shop: Any links or happy moments you’d like to share this week?

too good tuesday #2

Life has been flying by (as per usual), and it’s already time for the second installment of too good tuesday. Here is my previous round up of links, in case you missed it last week.Valentine’s Day was sweet and thoughtful. Outside, it felt like spring; blue skies overhead.Natasha Newton’s new blog/project is gorgeous and inspiring. Toasting brand new spices and cooking from scratch all day yielded one of the best Indian meals I’ve ever made. Got back to printmaking & started producing some new moleskines for my shop. Had a happy accident when almost running out of lino ink… mixed 1 part block printing ink to 1 part screen print ink: the ink block stayed moist, had better ink transfer to both the plate and paper, and my prints dried quickly.

What was too good to you this past week?

hand-printed owls

A couple people added my old wolf etsy treasury to their favorites list this morning, and it made me realize that it’s been a while since I’d curated a little list of cute handmade critters. I have been daydreaming of the printmaking I will do this year, and thus got looking at hand-pulled prints of animals… one thing led to another and before I knew it, I had 10 owl prints open in different tabs. Naturally a treasury was born; to our feathered friend, the owl, and the printmakers who illustrate them.
