21″ for the 21st century
22 Jul
I am slowly becoming more tech savvy, as mentioned in previous posts here and here, but today I reached a new level. Since my macbook died right amidst the madness of our move in June, I had put my computer needs on hold. Once we were finally feeling like we were settling in, I looked into investing into some technological advances. I opted for a 21″ desktop imac to help my posture and prevent my tendonoitis, not to mention the size of my monitor is greatly increased, reducing eye strain and allowing me to focus on details easier. I set up the absolute beauty in my studio today, and I think I am in love. My parents (who helped me avoid HST by buying it in Alberta) gifted me a professional tool: a back-up drive that connects wirelessly via time machine. I feel like I’ve got some major digital dexterity going on here. Exciting projects to come with the help of this beautiful machine.

That’s so exciting! I’ve often pondered getting an iMac, although for now I’m still happy with my Powerbook. Having that big screen will be such a great change! Enjoy!
I’m sitting in front of one now…I love Macs…just watch out for the face burn these babies can ive you if you sit in front of them too long….
I LOVE my mac. I think you will enjoy yours too. Of course, it does take some time to getting used to with all the different apps, but after everything is set up everything is soooo much easier.
P.S What do you use to get your pictures in a slideshow kind of format. Thanks!
Hi quaterflip, To insert your images as a slideshow, just load the photos you’d like to include in your blog post as your normally do (by clicking the add picture/video button). Once your photos are loaded go to the gallery tab in the add photo/video window, scroll to the bottom past your photos and click the button “insert as slideshow.”
Thank you!
