Visited the local Canadian Pacific Rail Museum this past week. I love vintage, by-gone eras and kitschy Canadiana in all of its glorious forms, so of course I thoroughly enjoyed the day trip and snapped way too many photos. There is such beauty in antiquity that often makes me long for a simpler life from another time…

I can easily see myself living in a small cottage with an old wooden front door, gorgeous views with lace window coverings, an old Remington typewriter for letter-writing, a Singer sewing machine to hem and make clothes, a collection of film cameras for family portraits, tins of tea and sweets on the kitchen cupboards, a crate of empty glass milk bottles to be filled at the neighbours farm, a Trans-Oceanic radio playing soft jazz tunes in the background, and a simple bathroom with embroidery, a gold framed mirror and a double tap faucet sink.

Beautiful items :D!!!
Yes! A small cottage!! With a garden of course. Lovely photos and post Jessica. Also, the new layout of your blog is striking.
I wish there had also been a garden there to add to the fantasy – should have taken a photo of the hanging baskets at the museum – they were magnificent. Thanks for the compliments about the blog re-design; a lot of work, but worth it.
I am easily won over by your romantic depiction of a simple life with these gorgeous antique objects. :) Very nice self-portrait as well ~ the mirror reflecting you right into your dream world. Lovely!
Really like the old Singer sewing machine . . .we have one that is very similar. Also liked the Remington typewriter. Love antiques!!
