I spent a good chunk of time after the holidays doing some product photography and have since been doing a lot of editing and filing. Today I conquered the task of listing nearly half of my almost two dozen altered book journals onto my etsy store.

These pieces mean a lot to me: from the thrill of the hunt when searching for special covers of vintage books, and the mess of gutting and re-linning the covers, to the custom cutting of all the paper, and the hands on nature of binding them with needle and thread… all of these one of a kind sketchbooks make a special place in my creative heart as one of my many little bound beauties. Do you like some of the new titles and textures?!

I have a few beautiful little books I collected at the book sale….I am sure a few of them would be super happy living at your house…..I might have to send you pics and negotiate ;)
Making a mail art run this weekend so hope to get a package out to you next week!
I like the one where you used the Aeneid. I collect books for their covers, but I don’t have the patience to make anything out of them. You do nice work.
These books are beautiful!!! I have some old books I have wanted to do something with because I just can not part with the beautiful covers and quality. Great job I am going to have to go and check out some more of your photos on your shop.
I hope you are having a wonderful start to your year!
Much Love,
Crystal
P.S. Thank you so much for your kind words on twitter. I have been busy trying to get my blog back up and running. All the little details just seem to be taken a lot longer than I would like. Since I have a nice stack of mail I would like to attend too (you are on the top of that pile!!!)
Thanks Crystal! No worries about the support & encouragement: you do the same for me! Looking forward to your reply, but do it when you’re ready!
